President’s Report – AMTA Wyoming

On behalf of the Board of Directors of AMTA Wyoming, I would like to wish you Happy Holidays and a Joyous New Year!
We have had a very eventful 2019! We now have a full board and lots of new irons in the fire. In May, we had a wonderful Spring Conference and Annual Chapter Membership meeting, where we filled the remaining vacant positions on the board. We were awarded the Legislative and Legal Education, Advocacy and Defense (LLEAD) grant back in June, of which we will be utilizing in the year ahead. Stay tuned! Also, in June, we sent our Government Relations Chair, Financial Administrator, and Chapter President to Evanston,IL for some role specific training with AMTA National. In October, we put on a very successful Fall Workshop in Thermopolis and managed to get our whole Leadership Team down to Indianapolis, IN to attend the Chapter Volunteer Orientation Program (CVOP) and Chapter Leadership Training. This is also where Monica was awarded the 2019’s AMTA Meritorious Award for her many contributions to our Chapter!
I am feeling very optimistic about what our Chapter will accomplish in 2020! Here is a breakdown:
  • Our new Education Chair (Traci Aguilar) comes to us with a wealth of event planning experience and is planning a Spring Conference to remember. It will be in Casper, WY on the first weekend of May.  Save that date! There will be multiple teachers and inspiring networking opportunities that you do not want to miss! Don’t forget, we will also be having our Annual Chapter Membership Meeting on that same weekend.
  • Our Membership Committee Chair (Monica Taylor-Lee) is organizing our Meet & Greet initiative that will give members the opportunity to network with one another throughout the state. Please reach out to Monica if you are interested in hosting a Meet & Greet in your area.
  • GR is in planning stage, working closely with AMTA national. Please fill out our GR Survey so that when the time comes we know that we are representing you, the amazing massage therapists of Wyoming! Please reach out to Megan if you have any questions regarding our Government Relations efforts.
As this year comes to a close, I invite each of you to participate, and most importantly become involved to insure that AMTA Wyoming is meeting your needs.
From myself and our Board of Directors, thank you for your membership and support. We promise to keep evolving to serve you.
Sincerely,
Cassidy Redig, LMT
